Question -1 - Discuss the title of the play . appropriate ?
Looking at the whole story , it seems that this title is appropriate. Arthur was member of the council community. They were to hold a meeting at night on the subject of the miners working there. That they play betting and have a bad effect on the society but what happened was that everything was revealed in the meeting itself. The members who were present were included and Arthur's wife Marjory also won the football coupon match. Arthur himself is caught in this now how can he tell this Gath.
Question-2 Money is a dominant motive in human affairs : prove it.
Money is seen as the main motive in this play as Marjory did not like staying in church all day she was bored of church. she wanted to leave the church and go somewhere else but she had no power because she had no money. Marjory believed that the miners would earn more than what was earned in the church. She did not like church life at all the main purpose of this play is considered to be money because all his happiness is hidden in money.
Question-3 Write a character sketch of Arthur welsey.
If we look at the character of Arthur Welsey , If there is a good person in the whole play. He preaches to everyone but something is going wrong in the house which Arthur doesn't know a meeting was called to eliminate the effect of betting on the society in which everyone was doing wrong in every place, but Arthur is the best character because he was the only person who never did anything wrong.
Question-4 who is the most honest character in the play according to you ? Give reasons for your answer.
According to me the most honest character is Arthur Welsey. Looking at the whole play, it is seen that Arthur Welsey is a good human being and works to preach to people. All the committee members who lives with him are doing something wrong but Arthur's character is shown to be good till the end. So Arthur is an honest character.
Question-5 write a note on the theme of the play.
Looking at the entire play it seems that both are not happy with the church life. At the beginning of the play , Arthur Welsey is seen reading a book and Marjory is knitting , indicating that the men should do the academic work and the women should do domestic work . Marjory is fed up with her life of drudgery as they cannot afford a servant.

Question-6 If you are given the chance to develop this play further, what scenes will you add ?
At the first , seeing Marjory's victory in this game , he is shocked . Arthur is not sure but on the one hand he is sad that ( i am the one preaching to everyone and i wanted to sue miners ) when such wrong activities are going on in my house , Arthur falls down thinking this . Marjory now tries to wake her husband but Arthur is now forever asleep . Arthur's funeral ceremony is performed, Marjory is very sad and not conscious . Marjory helps miners by providing them with all facilities . In the end, Marjory leaves the city and spends her life without a husband in another country.
